Betta's Che fine ha fatto la piccola Irene?

Marco Betta, author of operas, chamber and symphonic music, who also works for theatre and cinema, studied at Conservatorio in Palermo, guided by Eliodoro Sollima. Years later, he specialized with Armando Gentilucci and Salvatore Sciarrino. His debut was in 1982 at Festival Spaziomusica in Cagliari, and since then, his pieces are regularly represented in many Italian and European institutions. His musical language puts together the old Sicilian musical tradition with the main avant-garde techniques, particularly inclined towards minimalism and neotonalism. So it is for Che fine ha fatto la piccola Irene?, a chamber opera in one act (2003), libretto by Rocco Mortelliti, based on Le inchieste del Commissario Cillura by Andrea Camilleri.
